Born in 1985 in Groningen, Netherlands.
Anne's life was all about theatre until recently. She embarked on her acting journey at the age of 9 and spent her teenage years at the preliminary course 'de Noorderlingen' in Groningen. In 2008, she successfully completed her education at the ArtEZ school of acting in Arnhem.
After actively pursuing a 12-year career as an actress, Anne discovered photography as an alternative medium for expressing her reflections on society, herself and the world around her. Photography became an inexhaustible source of opportunities for telling stories. Following a course at the 'Nederlandse Fotovakschool' and a 2.5-year study at the 'Fotoacademie Amsterdam', she continued her photographic journey as a self-taught artist.
Her work soon attracted attention within her established theatre network, and she continues to provide a diverse range of photography, including campaign imagery, actor portraits, and scene photography.
Additionally, she began to explore the nightlife of Amsterdam, becoming fascinated by this peculiar world. A world separate from our daily lives, a place where inhibition is released, where playfulness reigns, and where it can be sultry and seductive but also grim. A reflection of our subconscious. Anne was keen to capture this intriguing realm with her narrative perspective and soon developed her own poetic language within these documentary projects. Her distinctive work also drew the attention of Richie Hawtin's management, leading to her selection as the photographer who would accompany his tour for six months, documenting his journey.
Anne's insatiable curiosity about the unknown, both in people and places, combined with her urge to shape what she observes or experiences, keeps drawing her back to her camera.
